The 12 zodiac signs are traditionally used in reading "stars" and horoscopes. This article focuses on the last five signs from Scorpio to Pisces.

A lot of people read magazine horoscopes but many of them do not take it seriously, nor does everyone who reads their horoscope really understand what it is about. Astrology has become more popular in mainstream society quite recently and more and more people are choosing astrology, horoscopes and other alternative beliefs, sometimes just for their own personal interest but often also for help and guidance, much in the way that many used to turn to religion.

Scorpio

October 23 to November 21 are the birth dates for Scorpio, the eighth sign of the Zodiac. Represented by the scorpion, scorpios are curious and in control which can lead to them being stubborn and overbearing. Scorpios are ruled by Mars and, consequently, also by Pluto when it was assigned to Scorpio on its discovery in the 1930s. Being ruled by a god of war and the god of the underworld makes Scorpios motivated and focused. Being a water sign, they can be emotional but, unlike other water signs, Scorpios tend not to show their emotions.

Sagittarius

The ninth sign, November 22 to December 21, is the birth date of the nomadic Sagittarians. Their symbol is the centaur, known as an intellectual half man, half beast in Roman mythology. Sagittarians are thinkers and love information, especially pertaining to theology and philosophy. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, Roman ruler of the Gods, and they are very lucky and optimistic. Their element is fire which leads them to be uncontrollable but inspirational.

Capricorn

Born between December 22 and January 19, the tenth sign is an earth sign ruled by Saturn - father of many Gods in Roman mythology. These elements make Capricorns hardworking and ambitious. Represented by the goat, Capricorns like to be at the top of any given project but they have the patience to wait for the glory and realise that they must rely on other people sometimes.

Aquarius

The eleventh sign, ruled by Saturn and Uranus, Aquarius is an air sign. Birth dates are from January 20 to February 18. Saturn was the father of many Roman gods and Uranus was the oldest of the Roman gods. This combination makes them strong, stern and inventive. Added to the intellectual air sign, aquarians can accomplish almost anything. Represented by the water carrier, Aquarius represents our current Age, they are givers and excellent contributors to the "Age of aquarius", and our technological era.

Pisces

Represented by a pair of fish, the Piscean birth dates are between February 19 and March 20. The fish give the Piscean a sensible nature. As the twelfth and final sign, Pisces intertwines many of the characteristics from all of the other eleven signs. Pisceans put much inmportance on emotion and they are very spiritual, being associated with dreams and psychic ability. Pisces is ruled by two planets, Neptune and Jupiter. Jupiter being ruler of the Roman gods and Neptune his counterpart in the sea. This, along with their element of water, makes them very spiritual and emotional although they can become pessimistic and over sensitive.
